General Questions 

 How can I view a PDF file that I downloaded from your web site?

To view PDF files you will need the most recent version of Adobe Acrobat. Please click on the link provided and download the software. You will then be able to view the PDF file that you are interested in. 


I use a MAC. When I try to download a PDF it downloads as "Download Binary" and I can not open the file. Is there a solution to this?

After you download the document from the web site, a white page appears called "Download Binary". If you add ".pdf" to the end of "Download Binary," it will convert the document into a PDF file. 


How do I view colors online?

Currently we do not offer colors in JPG form. To view colors on-line we offer our Personal Color Viewer� v2.0. The professional version is equipped with a comprehensive library of interior and exterior images, along with the option of importing your own images for a truly customized color experience. The professional version allows you to import images from a digital camera, scanner or CD and, allows you to print dramatic before and after presentations. You can order the professional version online by clicking here, or visit your local Benjamin Moore retailer.



How is the web site best viewed?

Benjaminmoore.com is best viewed by Internet Explorer 6.x or higher, Mozilla Firefox� 2.x or higher, or equivalent browser software. If your browser is older, you may have trouble viewing many of our web site features properly. You can determine the version of your browser by choosing "Help" at the top of your browser window, then select "About" (your browser).

This web site is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or higher. With most computers using Windows operating systems, you can easily change your screen resolution. Right click on the Desktop. When the "Display Properties" box appears, choose "Settings." Your screen resolution settings are located there. Change the setting and click "OK." Check your computer's user manual if these directions do not apply to your computer. The benjaminmoore.com web site is very graphic intense and has a large amount of built-in multimedia. You will need the most recent versions of Adobe Flash Player (currently version 9) and Adobe Acrobat (currently version 8) in order to view the web site. Please note that on-screen and printer color representations may vary from actual paint colors due to differences in monitor calibrations and printer variations.


How do I register for your website?

Move your mouse over "Register Now" at the top right of the navigation (menu) bar. This bar is available on every page of the site. You will be taken to another page that contains the Register screen with the registration form.


Colors on my computer screen do not appear the same when I print them. Why?

On-screen and printer color representations may vary from actual paint colors due to differences in monitor calibrations and printer variations.


Where can I order a Color Sample?

You can order Color Samples in the For Your Home section by clicking on the Explore Color tab in the top navigation. The link to Color Samples is located in the left navigation menu, and the link to Order Color Samples is the second on the following page.

Where is the link to AEC Daily?

The link to AEC Daily is located in the For Contractors section. Select "Business Resources" and then "Professional Tools" to access the link to AEC Daily.


Where can I find a complete listing of TDS and MSDS in one place?

You can find a complete listing of TDS and MSDS in the For Contractors section. Once you navigate to For Contractors, click on the "Products and Specs" tab in the top navigation bar, and then scroll down to Technical Information, and click "Browse Now".


Where can I order color chips or swatches on the architectural site? I can't find them.

The link to Order Color Sheets is located in For Architects and Designers under Professional Resources. The link can be found in the left side navigation menu.


Do I have to re-register to order Color Sheets if I registered in the past?

No. If you have registered in the past, simply sign on using your original ID and password that you have previously used to order Color Sheets.


Why is the registration process for ordering Color Sheets different from the My Favorites tool?

The Order Color Sheets site is separate from benjaminmoore.com.


The "quick order form" only works for color numbers; not for color names.

Yes, that's correct. This functionality has not changed with the web site redesign.


When you order by color number, you have to "check off" a box to indicate whether it is a Classic or Color Preview® color. Why?

This functionality has not changed with the web site redesign. We will research to see if this functionality can be upgraded.


On the color sheets home page I used to be able to type a product name or number in the search box. I can no longer find this tool; where did it go?

You can still type a product name or number into the search box. The search box appears after you log in.


Can you recommend architectural representatives to help?

Benjamin Moore has knowledgeable architectural sales representatives available to help you with your specifications. For product catalogs, color fan decks, and other color media, please contact the Benjamin Moore Architectural Representative in your region. Click here to locate your local representative.

 What is your customer service number for the online store?

Call 1-888-BEN-MOOR (1-888-236-6667), option 3 to speak to a customer service representative. Hours of operation are 7am to 7pm EST, Monday through Friday and 9am to 5pm EST Saturday.


 Can I buy paint online?

Yes, the Benjamin Moore Online Store offers a variety of paint, brushes, color samples, and other paint and color tools. Many of our green promise products are featured on this site, in a select palette of colors. For products and colors not available on our site, please visit one of our retail locations.


 Where can I order a Color Sample?

2 oz Color Samples are available on the Benjamin Moore Online Store. In addition to color samples, gallons and quarts of interior paint and primer, as well as brushes, rollers, and fan decks are also available.


 What are the recommended settings for viewing color online? Will my paint match the color I see on my monitor?

Viewing color online plays an important factor in determining what colors will look best in your home. Not all monitors display color the same, and it is important to note the color on your screen may not match the paint colors ordered from benjaminmoore.com. There are a few things you can do to achieve the best experience possible and optimize your color experience online:

  • Our site is best viewed at a screen resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels or higher. Please visit our Best Viewed Information page for further details.
  • Try our Color Samples�. We have hand selected approximately 600 of our colors from various collections and offer these in small sample sizes. These Popular Designer Colors are available to be shipped directly to you to test color in advance of purchasing larger quantities.
  • Our Fan Decks also offer a true color match of the paint you are considering to purchase. These are also available to purchase on our online store, and are an excellent complement to the Virtual Fan Deck displayed on our site.


 Why doesn't my login work from benjaminmoore.com to access the online store?

The online store has not yet been fully integrated with the existing website. At this time, you will need to maintain a separate login to access our online store.

Shipping Policies

 Where do you ship to for purchases made on your online store?

We currently ship to the continental United States. Although we have retail locations Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada, we do not ship to these locations at this time. If you live outside the Continental US, please use our Retailer Locator to find a store near you.

To guarantee delivery, we must have complete addresses. Sorry, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or A.P.O. and F.P.O. addresses.


 How much for you charge for shipping?

Shipping is based upon weight and is displayed at the end of the checkout process. All orders over $75 qualify for free UPS Ground shipping. Color sample only orders with four or more samples also qualify for free shipping.


 When will my order ship? When will I receive my order?

All orders are processed and boxed for shipment Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Orders typically leave our New Jersey warehouse within one business day from the day we receive your order. When your order is shipped, a confirmation email containing the UPS tracking number will be sent to you. This tracking information provides an estimated delivery date.

UPS Ground orders take between 1 to 5 business days to arrive from the ship date and are delivered Monday through Friday.
UPS 2nd Day Air orders arrive within 2 business days from the ship date and are delivered Monday through Friday.

 Will UPS leave the package if I am not home?

It is up to the sole discretion of the UPS driver whether they can leave a package at your door. If the shipping location is deemed a "safe" area, then the UPS driver will leave the package. However, if the driver has had past incidents of missing or stolen packages, he/she will most likely not leave the package. If you regularly have packages left at your door by UPS, this package should be no exception.

Please note, extreme cold weather conditions may cause paint to spoil. By making our paint eco-friendly, it is even more susceptible to freezing temperatures. We use special winter packaging ensure your paint arrives unfrozen in excellent condition. However, if you anticipate not being home within 8 hours of the package being delivered during freezing months, we strongly recommend sending your package to a business address to ensure delivery.


 Can I pick up my order from a Benjamin Moore retailer?

At this time, we do not offer customer pickup at our Benjamin Moore retail locations. If you do not find the product you are looking for online, the professionals at our stores would be happy to help.

Returns and Exchanges

 What is your return policy?

Please review these policies carefully as they are the terms of sale that govern your purchases at the Benjamin Moore Online Store. Your placement of an order on our site constitutes your agreement that these policies apply to the order, so be certain you understand them before you place your order.

Refunds, Returns & Exchanges
If you are not satisfied with your order from the Benjamin Moore Online Store, please call 1-888-BEN-MOOR (1-888-236-6667) for a Return Material Authorization (RMA).
Sales of custom tinted paint are final and not eligible for return or exchange.
Sales of unopened sundries, and non-tinted paint and primer with can clips attached may be returned within 90 days of the order date. Customers must first call customer service at 1-888-BEN-MOOR (1-888-236-6667) and receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) code. A 15% restocking fee will be applied and customers are responsible for return shipping.


 Can I return my paint if it is not the color I am expecting?

All custom tinted paint orders are final and cannot be returned, refunded or exchanged for a new color. We highly recommend sampling the color you are considering for purchase before ordering a larger quantity of product, as the colors you see on benjaminmoore.com may not match the color of your paint due to the way monitors display color. Please visit our Viewing color online page for more information.


 Can I return my purchase to a Benjamin Moore Retailer?

At this time, our Benjamin Moore retail locations are not integrated with our online store and cannot accept returns. Please refer to our Return Policy for further information regarding returns.
