Imagine twinkling stars on a ceiling or a border of luminous starfish in a dark bath. The glow-in-the-dark effect is ideal for creating designs just like these, which can be stamped and stenciled on a painted basecoat.
Because this effect comes alive most effectively at night, try glow-in-the-dark designs in your bedroom, bath, or anywhere you spend time in the evening.
Step 1 - Prepare Surfaces
Be sure your surface is properly prepared before you begin your project. Clean your walls thoroughly and repair any protruding nails or other imperfections.
Step 2 - Apply the Base Color
Apply your selected base color onto properly prepared walls.
Step 3 - Apply the Finish
Using specialty techniques such as stamping or sponging, apply a finish such as Studio Finishes® Glow In The Dark (312) Effect, which delivers a subtle luminescence.
Helpful Hints
Try painting a small luminous border around light switches in baths and bedrooms, as a clear guide for fumbling fingers. The effect is brightest when used over light colors, which reflect rather than absorb light. The glow-in-the-dark effect is less noticeable over light-colored base areas by day, when it takes on a milky appearance.
