Colour Palette Is Foundation For Latest GlucksteinHome Collection

(TORONTO, ON—JANUARY, 2011)—There's no need to lose sleep over decorating colour choices thanks to a newly minted relationship between Benjamin Moore Paints and GlucksteinHome and its founder, the acclaimed interior designer Brian Gluckstein. The newest GlucksteinHome bedding and bath collection, in stores this month, is accompanied by the design maestro's suggested colour palette, a range of 185 Benjamin Moore paint colours that he has personally chosen from among the revered paint company's 1,800 hues.

"These are paint colour selections meant to coordinate with and complement not only GlucksteinHome's textiles for bed and bath, but all of the design firm's furniture, accessories and lifestyle lines," said Nick Harris, Benjamin Moore consumer marketing manager, in announcing the collaboration. "Benjamin Moore is especially excited to be working with Brian in bringing this one-stop decorating solution to consumers. It's the perfect way to achieve a cohesive designer look in every room of the house."

The select palette, ranging from raspberry truffle (2080-10) to sage (2143-10) to ansonia peach (HC-52) to violetta (AF-615), can be found in a virtual fan deck accessible at www.benjaminmoore.ca/glucksteinhomeinspired, and ultimately available for sale in "hard copy" format beginning in April. The bedding ensembles, exclusively available across Canada at The Bay and at Home Outfitters, are packaged with the suggested paint colours best suited to achieving a finished environment with the polish of a professional. Additionally, the packaging directs the purchaser to local Benjamin Moore retailers, where extensive signage and branding will further differentiate the GlucksteinHome palette choices.

"Colour plays a vital role in creating the mood of a home," said Gluckstein, who has themed his new collections on eight distinct design characteristics: Antiquity, which he describes as a modern approach to traditional elements; Hampton, featuring relaxed tones and casual silhouettes at the beach; Suede, a celebration of deep tones and rich textures with a Zen-like serenity; Pinstripe, evoking the Old World glamour of the Art Deco period; Steel, sleek, polished and very cosmopolitan; Luxe, the ultimate in modern refinement and understated elegance; Classics, quintessential design choices for any home with a traditional twist; and Moderns, urban sophistication meets contemporary chic.

According to Gluckstein, he insists on Benjamin Moore in all of his interior design projects, and so it was only natural to work with the brand on this product initiative, as well.

"Benjamin Moore gives us really authentic, great colours," he said. "There's a richness to the paint colour, a depth and a complexity to it that's peerless. There is a very fine development of the colours that we as designers look for, and that can't be duplicated. In using Benjamin Moore paint, we're always confident and assured that we get the exact colour we want, the exact quality we want," he says.

Harris added, "This brand collaboration is all about inspiration. Our mutual goal is to help demystify for consumers what can often be the most daunting challenge in design and decorating—making the right colour decision. So, with Brian Gluckstein as your expert guide, you can give a bedroom a quick makeover with his GlucksteinHome linens line and then consider his top recommendations for Benjamin Moore wall colours and trims. It's a tidy package instilling decorating confidence and providing convenience for today's busy consumers."

The association between Benjamin Moore and Gluckstein builds on a relationship begun last year, when the paint company enlisted him for a North American ad and Facebook campaign, For Those Who Know More.

"Brian Gluckstein is, by far, one of the most illustrious and prolific interior designers working in Canada today. And, now we're enormously excited to be taking the relationship to this next level," Harris concluded.
