The Quintessential Shade of Green

As we narrowed down options for Colour of the Year 2027, we realized that green has always been part of the conversation, long maintaining a steadfast presence in both interior design and global trends, bending and adapting to the zeitgeist of the time.

For 2027, we wanted to pick a green that felt fresh and right for today, not a shade that reminisces. Knowing that stability, composure, and an interest in colours with a timeless essence are working their way into the home, Webster Green HC-130 stood out from the rest.

Adaptable but impactful, it can easily layer into any aesthetic and breathe personality into a design. With classic confidence it echoes the past while embracing the present. Webster Green HC-130 is the quintessential shade of green.

“The green colour family’s ability to adapt and transform makes it incredibly timeless. Sitting at the centre point is Webster Green HC-130, a mid-tone that serves as a reminder of the past but feels right and relevant today.”

- Andrea Magno, Vice President of Brand, Colour, and Integrated Marketing

Embrace Warm, Welcoming Hues

The Colour Trends 2027 palette emboldens traditional paint colours to reveal their more modern side. Relaxing pastels help to create soothing oases in quiet spaces and lend a fanciful twist when paired together, while dramatic mid-tone hues make a chic statement in living areas or small spaces.

In selecting the palette’s eight hues, we looked at different influences, gathering insights from trade shows, trend talks, and other creative forums to understand what was happening with colour throughout the world. What rose above the rest were warm, welcoming colours with a modern freshness.

The Colour Trends 2027 palette is a nod to the colours we see emerging in other disciplines, like tawny browns, dusky pastels, and chic ochres, all a wonderful complement to Webster Green HC-130, the Colour of the Year 2027.
