Regal Select® REVIVE® is the paint you need to grow your business by refreshing weathered and faded vinyl homes. Even though vinyl siding is one of the most common exterior building materials, many homeowners are not aware that it can actually be painted.
Repainting vinyl siding with Regal Select REVIVE can offer your new and existing clients long-lasting benefits and easily boost curb appeal. Aside from giving siding a fresh, premium look, REVIVE can also protect vinyl siding from harsh weather conditions—even heat—in a wide selection of hues, including dark colors.
Step 1: Cleaning Vinyl Siding
Before painting, the surface must be cleaned thoroughly. Any mildew, chalk, or dirt must be removed to ensure maximum adhesion.
TIP: The best way to clean vinyl siding is either by hand scrubbing or power washing. Consider Clean Multi-Purpose Cleaner (318), which is ideal for cleaning vinyl surfaces. No matter the cleaner used, thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water after washing, as the surface needs to be dry before priming or painting.
Step 2: Priming Vinyl Siding
In most cases a primer is not necessary; REVIVE combines paint and primer together.
Step 3: Helping Clients Select Colors
REVIVE offers a curated palette of 900+ colors that have been selected by our color and design experts. Help your clients by using the REVIVE Colors for Vinyl Siding color collection.
Step 4: Painting Vinyl Siding
- Two coats is always recommended.
- Do not over-apply product.
- Spray, brush or roll on to surface.
- Vinyl siding does not retain moisture, so it is easy to clean and dries quickly.
TIP: Do not apply when air and surface temperatures are below 40°F (4.4°C) and avoid painting in direct sunlight – the surface should not be hot to the touch.
