2. Where can I buy Benjamin Moore paint?

Benjamin Moore paint and paint samples are available at independently owned paint and hardware stores.

You can also buy Benjamin Moore gallons of paint online, however you must pick them up at the selected retailer. Color swatches, fan decks, painting tools (brushes and rollers), and paint and stain samples can be shipped to you directly in the continental United States. Here are some guidelines:

*Gallons of paint and stain: Available for pick up in store only

*Paint samples 16 oz. (1 pint): Either pick up in store or ship directly to you from our online store.

*Color swatches, fan decks and painting tools (brushes and rollers): Shipped direct to you; not available for pick up in store.

For products and colors not available on our site, please contact your local Benjamin Moore retailer.

3. Where can I buy a paint sample or a color swatch?

You can purchase a pint-size, brush-on paint sample at your local Benjamin Moore retailer. You can also order a brush-on paint sample from the Benjamin Moore online store and have it delivered directly to your home.

You can purchase 4" x 8" color swatches on our online store only; color swatches are not available in stores.

4. What is the difference between a paint sample and a color swatch?

Benjamin Moore offers two types of color samples:

Paint color samples (available in stores and online): Paint color samples are 16 oz. cans of paint in the color of your choice. They are only available in eggshell sheen, and are formulated for interior use only.

Paint color samples cover approximately two 4' X 4' or eight 2' x 2' areas with two coats of paint. You can brush a paint color sample directly on your wall—or on a white poster board. We recommend a large white poster board, so you can move it around the room throughout the day to see how it will appear in different lighting conditions. This helps avoid "surprises” on your ultimate color choice. If you opt to brush your paint color sample directly on your wall, consider using a primer if needed.

Color swatches (available online only): These 4” x 8” swatches, in an eggshell finish, allow you to test a color without painting a wall. Color swatches are a good choice when trying to decide between many colors at one time. Simply tape them on to your wall (note that color swatches are not ‘peel and stick’), observe them in different lighting conditions, and compare colors against another.

Both paint color samples and color swatches are final sale and not eligible for refunds. Paint Color Samples and color swatches are shipped from different locations, so they may arrive at different times. There is a maximum of 10 color swatches per customer. Learn more about our color samples and get tips on how to use them to find your perfect paint color.

5. Do you sell samples of exterior stain?

Yes. You can purchase a 16 oz. (1 pint) sample of ARBORCOAT® Exterior Stain in a variety of opacities and colors from our online store.

6. What is the Benjamin Moore Color PortfolioTM App & ColorReader?

The Benjamin Moore Color Portfolio app, available FREE on Apple and Google stores for iOS and Android, includes virtual fan decks, a photo visualizer, and much more.

The portable ColorReader, brought to you by Datacolor–a leader in color technology, pairs with the Benjamin Moore Color Portfolio app via Bluetooth® to provide prevision color-matching for all Benjamin Moore's 3500+ colors as well as readings from other popular paint brands.

8. How do I receive emails from Benjamin Moore?

9. What is Gennex® Color Technology?

Gennex® Color Technology is the reason that you cannot “match” Benjamin Moore® color in another paint brand. Why? Because the combination of Benjamin Moore’s proprietary Gennex® waterborne colorant with Benjamin Moore paint creates an end-result that simply cannot be replicated.

Most common paint colorants require the addition of certain chemicals so that they can easily mix into any number of paints—chemicals that ultimately weaken them. Proprietary Gennex Color Technology is engineered specifically by Benjamin Moore, for Benjamin Moore paints. The result is the premium paint that makes Benjamin Moore synonymous with quality.

Aura® Interior paint, Aura® Exterior paint, Natura® Interior paint, Regal® Select Interior paint, Regal® Select Exterior paint, ben® Interior paint, ben® Exterior paint and many others are engineered with the “science” behind Benjamin Moore quality: Learn more about Gennex® Color Technology.

10. What is Color Lock®?

Benjamin Moore’s proprietary Color Lock® technology is exclusive to premium Aura® Interior paint and Aura® Exterior paint. Thanks to Color Lock®, color pigments are locked into the paint film, so color doesn’t fade, even after repeated washings. Benefits of Aura® with Color Lock® technology include:

  • Covers walls more completely so you can use less paint
  • Unprecedented durability and no color rub-off, even after repeated washings
  • Extreme hide to cover dark colors and imperfections
  • Uniquely smooth finish

In addition to Aura® Interior and Exterior paints, Color Lock® enhances Aura® Color Stories®, a sophisticated collection of 240 colors that exhibit an accentuated response to different lighting conditions.

11. What is the Color Capture® app?

Available for iPhones and Android OS phones, the Color Capture® app lets you capture color with your phone's camera and instantly find its match from Benjamin Moore's 3500+ paint colors.

Yes. If you want to use My Favorites, you must either login using your existing account info or create a new account by registering here.

Using My Items enables you to save individual 'items' including colors, products, articles and images from Benjaminmoore.com. My Projects serves as a folder to collect multiple items; you can name Projects accordingly, e.g. Bob's Bedroom Ideas, Upstairs Bathroom Colors, etc.

22. What are some tips for using My Favorites?

*My Items serves as your 'bucket' of every single saved item (e.g. color, product, article or image) that you save; an item can only be saved in My Items once, however the same item can exist in more than one Project.

*Once you add an item to My Items, the item's heart icon, on the upper right side, will be shaded; please note that just because an item's heart is shaded, doesn't mean you can't add this item to other Projects.

23. What is the difference between My Favorites, Color a Room and Personal Color Viewer?

These are interactive, online color tools that can help you plan a successful painting project using Benjamin Moore colors and products.

My Favorites empowers you to collect and save paint colors, products, articles and images that you find on the Benjamin Moore website.

Color a Room lets you experiment with Benjamin Moore color using a wide range of inspirational home photographs that we provide.

Personal Color Viewer lets you upload your own images, or use the ones we provide, to 'paint' up to five surfaces using any one of our 3,500+ colors. Please note that Personal Color Viewer is best viewed on your desktop; Personal Color Viewer is not optimized for mobile and tablet devices.

To coordinate your pickup, please contact your selected retailer for specific order details and store hours. Every Benjamin Moore retailer is independently owned, so store hours vary.

The Fine Print
Orders are typically ready in as little as three hours, although this timing is not guaranteed and is at the sole discretion of your selected retailer. Orders are filled in the order they are received, and the length of time between order placement and fulfillment is dependent on many variables, including order type, retailer stock, etc.

30. What do I need to bring with me in order to pick up my purchase?

Be sure to check the hours before you go-all Benjamin Moore retailers are independently owned, so hours vary.

Please bring the following with you when you visit your local store for pickup:

31. Where do you ship to?

Paint samples, color swatches, fan decks, and painting tools (brushes and rollers) are availabe for purchase in our online store and can be shipped to you directly in the continental United States. Although we have retail locations in Alaska, Hawaii, and Canada, we do not ship to these locations at this time. If you live outside the Continental U.S., please use our Retailer Locator to find a store near you.

To guarantee delivery, we must have complete addresses. Sorry, we cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes or A.P.O. and F.P.O. addresses.

Please note gallons of paint may be ordered online, but must be picked up at the retailer selected in checkout.

32. Will UPS leave the package if I am not home?

It is up to the sole discretion of the UPS driver whether they will leave a package at your door.

Please note, extreme cold weather conditions may cause paint and stain samples to spoil. By making our paint eco-friendly, it is even more susceptible to freezing temperatures. We use special winter packaging to ensure your paint arrives unfrozen in excellent condition. However, if you anticipate not being home within 8 hours of the package being delivered during freezing months, we strongly recommend sending your package to a business address to ensure delivery.

33. How can I track orders being shipped directly to me?

If your order contains items for shipping, an email with a tracking number from UPS will be sent to you upon shipment.
